Arrival of new Flybe E175 jets!

Yesterday Flybe celebrated the delivery of their first two E175 jet aircraft with a spectacular water arc, provided by the Exeter Airport Fire Service.
The arc is a traditional form of welcome for aircraft joining the fleet and dozens of Flybe staff gathered on a brisk November morning alongside the Exeter hangar to witness the magnificent sight.
Andrew Strong, Managing Director of Flybe UK (left) with Stefan Kontorravdis, Director of Engineering, commented:
“The arrival of our first two new Embraer aircraft is a significant moment in Flybe’s history and I’m delighted that the British weather held-off to allow us to celebrate the deliveries in traditional fashion by giving them a proper soaking!
“The financing announced last week with BNDES, Brazilian Export Development Bank, secured all our planned aircraft financing requirements through to July 2014 and is an important milestone for Flybe, sending out a very clear message that our business is in robust financial health. The aircraft will be in service in the next few weeks, once the relevant approval has been gained from the CAA, and I’m sure Flybe passengers around the UK and Europe will be impressed by the comfort, speed, reliability and performance of one of the world’s finest aeroplanes.
Andrew concluded by thanking the Exeter Airport Fire Services:
“The water arc is a tremendous sight and I’m particularly grateful to our friends at Exeter Airport for arranging such a great display.”
